Wheel of Fortune viewers were shocked when the puzzle creators provided a divisive solution to one of the puzzles. Although the puzzle gave Adam Goodell a whopping $2,450 in a matter of minutes, the solution left some viewers in tears of laughter while others were angered by the tongue-in-cheek solution. Solving the puzzle gave Goodell enough money to head into the bonus round, but viewers were stuck on the solution to the puzzle, which was rather risqué given the family-friendly nature of the popular game show known as America’s Game.
So, what was the solution to the puzzle? Goodell gave the correct solution, which was “brushing up on my Italian sausage.” As you might have guessed, the category for the puzzle was before and after. The solution comprised of two phrases that were combined together with one word, which was the word “Italian” in this case. The two phrases were “brushing up on my Italian” and “Italian sausage,” but the correct solution rubbed some Wheel of Fortune viewers the wrong way because it was rather risqué for the family show.
Many Wheel of Fortune fans took to Twitter to share their shock. The puzzle was shown during the airing of the February 2020 season. Some people called the puzzle “kinky,” while others labeled it downright “hilarious.”
One person wrote on Twitter about the puzzle, sharing a screengrab of the solution, saying: “Yeah, I don’t know about this one #wheeloffortune #ohvannapickmealetter.”

Meanwhile, Pat Sajak made fun of the puzzle solution as well. After Goodell solved the puzzle during the show that aired in February 2020, Sajak quipped: “Uh… it’s a grilling expression.”
